INDIE (as defined by urban dictionary)

Usually late teens to mid twenties. A name often used for an artistic individual who thinks, and sincerely cares about issues one wouldn't find in the mind of most adolescents. A rare breed.

Political junkies.
Bargain hunters.
All for organic (food, beauty and hygiene products, etc.)
A very thorough knowledge of independent music, but most enjoy a variety of genres.
Artistic and independent film buffs.
A deep love for all forms of art.
Most tend to be very witty, but this can come off as sarcastic and snobby.

In high school, Indie kids were/are a bit awkward, because they find it hard to communicate with those who don't have the same ideals. This doesn't mean that they won't talk to you.

Conversation is well liked among the Indie, but their ever churning minds are rarely understood. This is where humor comes in, and Indie kids tend to be very clever individuals who can come up with a funny little quip almost instantly. A lot tend to pursue stand up comedy. Also, an Indie kid will talk your ear off, sew it back on, then talk some more if music comes in to the conversation.

Art is rooted deep within the heart of any Indie kid, and probably has been their entire life. Whether it be music, photography, writing, cinematography, painting, or any other art form that wasn't mentioned. Many become pretty successful artists later in life. The Green movement is also supported by almost all Indie kids. If art isn't their first passion, the earth is.

The Indie style:

It's not uncommon to see Indie kids haunting antique shops and thrift stores, for they love all things vintage. Earthy colors, buttons, plain t-shirts, torn fabric, knitted items, denim jeans, and comfortable shoes are all seen in the Indie style of both sexes. Vintage looking jewelry is also popular among females, but something handmade or of sentimental value is often preferred. Indie kids do care about their appearance, they just don't obsess over it.

The Difference between Indie and Emo:

Many have described these differences as a "war". This is not the case. If there's one thing an Indie hates, it's complete stupidity. Unrighteous self pity, and closed mindedness are all seen as stupid. Indie kids do like their style/music, but don't criticize other's for not liking it as well. They accept people of all colors, shapes, sizes, and styles. Though, once someone does show a decent amount of shallow emotion, an Indie kid will stop speaking instantly (this is bad.) There is no war, just a frustration with the traits that often come with the Emo style.

All in all, an Indie kid doesn't need much to be happy. Good friends, good music, good food, good conversation, and good laughs. True bliss. A simplicity that this world seems to lack.



oh man tis is so dame true bout me. actually i was doing tis FB quiz "wat kinda stereotype are u" and it said i was a indie scene.. and had some explanation under it... i agreed with the some of it and i dint agree with the other half of it... being curious i googled indie style and the first link i got was the urban dictionary, and once i started reading it i was like dame tis is so dame true about me.

all tis while i thought i was in to hip hop and stuff even though i listened to indie music. but i never really felt that i fitted in hip hop.. it was something i wanted to be but all tis while i was indie and i guess i will be indie all my life. i am proud to say tat i am a indie (:

i totally agree wit the article above where it says indie ppl love eartly colour, are creative, love all forms of art, funny....

omg the more i read the article the more i am being convinced tat tis is so all true about me.. and the thing tat me happy the most is i was tis all the while even with out knowing it and now i have realized it tis also means i am not a poser how is trying to be indie(:

its such a normal yet not normal day moring was good evening i was sad and now after see some old sec. school vids it just brings smile on my face..... man those were some pretty crazy days..... miss all those ppl and the class room v had fun in:(...... but yeah time does not wait and v must move on.........

aint it weird tat v miss things tat v love only when they are gone.... back in those days seniors used to tell me "enjoy the school life now, u will miss it once u graduated" and i would say to myself yah yah watever school life is so boring...... but dame i tottally agreee wit them now.... i guess everyone goes through tis

but let not ignore it, instead give them a special place in ur life.

well i thing my brain's been working over time cause it does not stop thinking even until the second i fall asleep. i donno if tat good or not i mean thinking to much might make crazy but in a way i fell very secure & organized.. well lets just say i will try to keep things on moderation. lol even while writting tis there are a million things going on in my head.

oh yeah yesterday(25.8.09) after work went dont to tampnies wit yiqi and chilli to catch the movie "the last house on the left"..... but some how v were unable to watch the movie.... hmmmmmm the reason was hahahahahaa someone among us was not above 18... lol yiqi faster turn 18 la dame.. i wanna watch tat movie hahah. anyways i am gonna turn 19 even before u turn 18 lol:D.

so the next best timg v could do was get some nice food to eat..... chilli wanted to eat pasta mania and me having a bad experience with pasta mania in e past i dint wanted to eat there, but 2 girls 1 boys wat do u think who win??? of course they la haha. anyways surprisingly the baked fish pasted i ordered was nice so no regrets(lol spam on chilli and cheese haha i mean the chilli flakes lol). so here's the food

after dat went down to bugis street chilli bought a geek speck.... i also want ahhh.

lol i saw the shades down there nice i wanted to buy but once i wear i cant see a thing haha. lol chilli looking for the biggest available speck lol the one she first like was like cover half of her face hahaha

i suggested her to buy snowboarding goggles:D..... in the end she ended up buying a decent looking geek speck which also she had diffculties choosing colour and after testing them for like the 100th time she settled on one hahah......... chilli

i am getting a geek speck toooooo but mine is the real one got degreee ok haha........ better than urs lol..


wah today wat work dame high in the morning lol listern music and suddenly got boost of energy oh yeah!!!!!!!!!

i never intended to start my blog wit some emo, lame s**t stuff, but well tis is the way it wanna go than fine no once can stop it. totally not happy wit my ex. Dame firstly tis goes out to u bhags, i am totally over wit u and when i say totally i mean it..... cause its god dame over. wats the point telling me now how much u love me and and bla bla.... its OVER its tooooo l8 u never said tis when the time was right. ur resone is "i wanted u to tell dis long back but i could not". well than wat hold u back from saying it and no point saying it now.the love has gone. seriously i am so dame pisssed by all tis cause ur showing ur love now when its over. dame it stop doing or stop telling me those stuff. i dint got to hear them when i wanted to and i dont want to her em now..... move on. last time i was stuck on you.. and now its you who seems to be stuck on me. dame just MOVE ON ok!!!!! its over [OveR]. look on the brightside, learn from your mistakes and live a nice life.

I find that i have changed in a lot of ways and cant stop from thinking how life changes.... the future awaits us wit full of mystery.
